Shopping @ 西门町 (Hsimen Tin)
I told you we went to those memorial halls and museum on our second day in Taipei right? Frankly nothing special there. Think these places have slowly lose the charm they exude last time. Nowadays tourists usually associate Taipei with vibrant night market, and as a shopping paradise.
So, it is a must that we went to 西门町 for worshipping. Yeah!
We stayed at Riverview Hotel and it is just conveniently next to 西门町. How good it can be. First we went for lunch. Very sumptuous lunch, but I will post it later time cos I dun wan to make you hungry yet -_-''
西门町 is a very different shopping district from Orchard in Singapore. In 西门町, many many road crossings constitute that big shopping area and huge variety of shops scattering there. You hardly can demarcate its real boundary. All you need to do, is to walk here and turn there... quite confusing for me. Whereas in Orchard Road Singapore, most of the shopping complexes where located along the main road.
It's summer now and bloody hot, so I hid inside one music store trying to look out a funny CD for my best friend but to no avail...
I more prefer the 西门町 at night. I love all these neon light and banner and signboard. I am wondering why in Singapore we banned it? Isn't it make our night life more vibrant?
A short argument arising from the different "needs" between guy and girl.
When we were there, we guys kept look out for nice eatery, coffee, snack etc.
Photo photo...
I saw Rainie Yang here! But kiki prohibited me to take photo with her, cos she said I kinda childish if I do so... isn't it. I kinda regret now.
I think the streets here is very luan (乱). Make a wrong turn you wil get lost.
I really love the neon lights!
Oh... I am so happy to see the selling of smelly toufu (臭豆腐) here. This one is the special BBQ type, that is not typical oily fried one. Look kinda yummy so I bought one stick... only I tried it cos noone else love smelly toufu except me. I am smelly weido lover! Muahaha.
This is how it looks like. Nice hor? This is 招牌 (signature?) one.
Then JK told us that we must try the Ah Tiong Mee Sua (阿忠面线)... the famous Mee Sua in Taipei. It is located near the KFC alley. No table no chair, you gonna stand on the roadside to eat it. We bought one small bowl to try... frankly nothing special, no oyster... nothing else, just Mee Sua. My hongkie friend told me, "唔知点解台湾人喜欢吃,好似吃屎!"
Huh?
But you must try this drink, one of my favourites... WOW Frog Eggs!
Just guess what is inside...
I duno what is this building... just think it looks nice :P
